Position Summary

Since 2007, Dealer-FX has transformed how automotive retailers manage their service operations and interact with consumers. Through advanced data integrations and mobile technology, Dealer-FX streamlines processes and communication for automotive service departments while delivering convenience, transparency, and trust to consumers. Dealer-FX is a wholly owned subsidiary of Snap-on Incorporated (NYSE: SNA), which acquired Dealer-FX in 2021.

Dealer-FX has been serving automotive OEMs and dealerships for almost a decade. Dealer-FX is transforming how millions of consumers interact with automotive brands and their retailers. Our platform uses advanced data analysis and mobile applications to deliver convenience, transparency, and trust to consumers and increase efficiency, profitability, retention, and brand loyalty to OEMs and dealers.

Snap-on Tools Inc. is looking for a Senior Product Designer to advance Dealer-FX, and technologies that enable automotive retailers to manage their service operations and provide their customers with a positive experience.

We’re looking for a customer-obsessed, and research driven individual who doesn’t mind jumping in and getting their hands dirty to solve complex problems. You thrive in ambiguity, and understand the steps to simplify complexity while bringing others along on the journey.

You’ll partner with multiple stakeholders and teams across the company to deliver best-in-class solutions for desktop, tablet and mobile web-based applications to improve people’s lives. You have a balance of interaction design, visual design, and product thinking skills, and will be responsible for defining, designing, researching, prototyping, and implementing new features as well as future iterations.

You’ll play a critical role in driving the improvements and governance of our design system, as well as championing design, consistency, creativity, and technical innovation for our next-generation automotive productivity solution. You’re open-minded, a natural collaborator, and can apply design thinking and human-centered design methodologies in your day-to-day work.

We’re looking for someone who can work independently, charting their own way forward. But can also work in a team environment to bring value to the organization, and the people it serves.

Responsibilities

  • Improve the user experience. You’ll own projects from start to finish, while leading various UX initiatives including running design sprints to define and explore user problems, content mapping, sketching, wireframing, low and high fidelity prototyping, creating visual design concepts for brainstorming and approval in a timely manner and leading stakeholder reviews
  • Propose and constantly look out for new concepts and ideas
  • Solve user problems while balancing all facets of a user's experience (strategy and research, information architecture, interaction design)
  • Challenge the status quo, and push for better both with the design team, and cross-functional partners.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in online consumer behaviour, technologies and design
  • Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces
  • Ship valuable and high-quality work without sacrificing speed
  • Collaborate with multiple teams. Designing for cross-product, cross-platform foundational features, you will be leveraging and incorporating the domain expertise of teams focused on specific workflows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in product design or User Experience (UX).
  • Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment.
  • Portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions.
  • Technical mastery in design and prototyping tools (i.e. Figma)

What’s in it for You:

  • Vast opportunities for growth
  • Competitive compensation packages
  • A flexible work schedule for work-life balance
  • Comprehensive training and development support
  • Group health and dental benefits
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation
  • Company events and team building
