Position Summary

We are looking for a temporary (2 months to start) Human Resources Generalist to join our busy (and totally great) Human Resources Team.

 

As a key member of our small Human Resources team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting various HR functions. This role offers hands-on experience across different areas, including recruitment, payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, and organizational development. Whether it’s assisting with hiring, helping to create a positive workplace culture, or supporting employee processes, this is a great opportunity to grow and gain broad HR experience!

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life:

  • Support end-to-end recruitment by sourcing, screening and coordinating interviews
  • Maintain communication with hiring manages and gather feedback
  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and ensure compliance with policies  
  • Administer and maintain group benefit programs, including ensuring monthly invoicing is accurate, current, and submitted to Finance for payments.
  • Maintain the Dealer-FX HRIS, including but not limited to data entry for all new hires and departures.
  • Provide context on Dealer-FX workplace policies, employment standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with all Human Resources team members in all aspects of team operations, projects, and other related matters; provide insight, ideas and solutions.
  • Support health and safety initiatives to ensure legislated compliance and participate in the JHSC.
  • Respond to general inquiries from staff filtered through a general mailbox. 
  • HR administration, including maintenance of employee files, templates and standard letters
  • Runs ad-hoc and regularly scheduled reports and audits to ensure data accuracy and reconciliation between various sources

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Post-Secondary education (Degree or Diploma) in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Experience in a high-performing, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in Canadian and U.S HR legislation and a solid understanding of benefit programs, such as Group Insurance, RRSP/TSFA, 401K, would be beneficial
  • Experience in various areas of Human resources, including performance management, recruitment, organizational development, onboarding, and employee engagement would be beneficial
  • Strong computer skills, comfortable working with spreadsheets and day-to-day productivity business tools, and quick to learn new ones
  • Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong ethical fortitude and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and respect
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal clients and stakeholders, as external third parties
  • Customer-centric approach to supporting business through its HR and people-related programs
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with an analytical mind, able to think both inside and outside the box
